Ru Ba Ru is a 2008 Indian drama film directed by the debutant director Arjun Bali. Filmed in Hindi, the film revolves around the relationship between a live-in couple caught amidst their busy professional careers. The film stars actors Randeep Hooda and a relative newcomer Shahana Goswami in the leading role. Rati Agnihotri, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Jayant Kriplani play the supporting roles. This movie is another example of direct lifting from Hollywood movie, mildly termed as ‘adaptation’. Debutant director Arjun Bali ‘adapts’ Gil Junger’s Hollywood hit If Only (2004).
The film is on a modern couple, Tara (Shahata Goswami) and Nikhil (Randeep Hooda) are in love; Tara wants to cement the relationship by seeking participation in the marriage. But Nikhil, the workaholic, there will always be pre-occupied his customers and employees, and he is pleased with how things are between the two of them. Problems in Paradise begins with Nikhil continually forget the small little things, make new acquaintances. He starts to take his girlfriend, his family and friends for granted. And the day comes when Tara can not do it anymore. As he decides to take matters into their own hands, a strange magical, mysterious force is missing, and the drama progresses!
